Notes

  • The For You “Explore now” action now plays an available trailer directly in the hero, matching “Play Trailer”, instead of opening the game details modal.

Changed

  • The full-screen Lounge top row — Lounge, Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, Chat, search, and the account avatar — now uses the next-larger type size.
  • Returning to the Lounge tiles from Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, or Chat no longer replays the Home top-bar drop or the card-row entrance; those motions still play on launch and when switching Start ↔ Lounge on Home.
  • Opening Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, or Chat from the top tabs or L1/R1 now lands on the first left-rail item; activating that item still moves into the first title, photo, video, app, or friend.
  • Library, Recents, Favorites and the other left-rail rows on Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, and Chat now use the next-larger type size, including their icons.
  • Apps and Chat now use the same unified, divided workspace as Photos and Videos: a 312 px navigation rail, integrated content columns, and no separate outer cards or duplicate Apps action bar.
  • The Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, and Chat cards on the Home Lounge now open their full-screen pages directly; translucent category workspaces are no longer used.
  • Photos now matches Videos' unified workspace: source folders live in the left rail, the library and preview share one divided surface, and viewer controls are integrated into the right preview instead of a separate bottom strip.
  • Videos now mirrors Music's unified workspace: navigation, library, and preview share one divided surface, source folders live directly in the equally wide left rail, and focusing a video selects its preview while activating the selected video again starts playback.
  • Videos no longer uses a separate bottom player bar; playback stays in the integrated right preview.
  • The top-bar music mini-player now shows the current track's cover at full pill height behind the seek bar.

Added

  • L1/R1 now cycles directly through the full-screen Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, and Chat pages while their existing D-pad tab navigation remains available.
  • Apps and Chat now live in the full-screen Lounge too. Apps adds searchable all, pinned, and recent views with app details, pinning, adding, and launching. Chat adapts the existing Discord friend, profile, party invite, library matching, direct-message history, and sending flows into a controller-friendly contact and conversation layout. Available in English and German.
  • Photos now opens in the full-screen Lounge with reusable media navigation and folder panels, a searchable photo grid, large preview and file details, favourites, recent views, related photos, slideshow controls, zoom, and full-screen viewing. Available in English and German.
  • Videos now opens in the full-screen Lounge with its own library navigation, folder browser, searchable video grid, live preview and details, favourites, recent plays, resume positions, Up Next queue, and a player bar shared with the preview controls. Available in English and German.
  • Music opens as its own full screen instead of a panel beside the Lounge cards: a row of Lounge tabs at the top, then navigation, a real folder tree with track counts, the track list with cover, artist, album and length, and a Now Playing column with transport, output device, volume and the queue. A player bar sits at the bottom and keeps playing while you move around. Favourites, playlists, recently played, and browsing by album, artist or genre are all there, and search covers the whole library. "Lounge" in the tab row — or B on the controller — goes back to the cards. Available in English and German.
  • Music files now show their cover art and length before you play them: warmUP reads the embedded picture, the track length and the genre out of the tags while it scans.
  • The Library view menu adds an eight-per-row grid and a "Hide collections" switch that takes the collections strip out of the layout entirely, so the game grid moves up into its place. Both are remembered. Available in English and German.
  • A game that just came out now opens the For You hero in its own slot: "Released today" or "Out now" sits above the title at half its size, the button glows the way the Continue card does, and it reads "Explore now" instead of "View details". Covers releases from the last ten days, at most two at a time, picked by how anticipated they were. Available in English and German.
  • warmUP switches an idle wireless controller off, the way a console does. Windows never does this itself, so a DualSense left alone stays lit until its battery is flat. A short buzz warns first, and Controller settings offer 10, 30 or 60 minutes, or never. Bluetooth controllers only. Available in English and German.
  • The Library grid shows library ads again for everyone without a subscription, at every row density. They were previously bound to a grid size the Library never used.
  • The gear in the Library opens a view menu instead of jumping straight into Settings. It holds how many games sit in a row (3, 4, 5 or 6 — 5 as before), the sort order, and the way into Library & Games settings. The row count is remembered. Available in English and German.

Changed

  • Music now uses one calm, unified workspace with subtle dividers between navigation, library, and Now Playing; the flatter track list and integrated queue keep the library as the visual focus. The right panel is context-only: its artwork fills all space above the duration-aware queue, with the favourite action overlaid in the lower-right corner and no duplicate metadata or transport; the persistent bottom player is the sole playback controller. The navigation is three quarters as wide as the artwork panel, and unavailable mock sources are hidden. Added local folders appear directly in Sources, with Add source as the single path for adding them; the separate folder column and redundant Local files and Browse → Folders entries are gone. Right-clicking a source folder or pressing Y arms its red delete state, and clicking or pressing A removes it from Music without deleting files from disk.
  • Shuffle now immediately starts and queues a shuffled version of the active Music context: the selected source folder, favorites, recents, playlist, album, artist, genre, or the renamed All Music library.
  • Music sources now rescan automatically while Music is open. Track actions can play a song next or append it to the queue, and individual upcoming tracks can be removed without affecting library files.
  • The bottom Music player no longer duplicates the favourite action or offers a control that hides the persistent artwork and Up Next panel.
  • The Music output-device picker is now a single filled-purple speaker button; clicking it opens the same device dropdown without a persistent label or border.
  • The full-screen Lounge now shows the active account avatar beside search. Music keeps its single output selector in the bottom player, lists the real Windows output endpoints, and places volume immediately before it. Every interactive target across Music, Photos, Videos, Apps, and Chat now uses the same animated purple hover and controller-focus halo without scaling wide rows into scroll edges; music-folder hover and focus match the complete selected-row footprint.
  • In the Library, the action pill (Auto Backup, Sync Library, Add Emulator, view menu) now sits on the same line as the playtime figure, and its labels and icons are one step larger. Sorting moved out of the view menu — it already lives in the filter bar.
  • The For You hero holds each slide for seven seconds instead of four, and a just-released game gets a third longer than that.
  • On Home, scrolling up while the card row sits on Start now switches to the Lounge deck, and scrolling down from the Lounge goes back to Start — the same move the D-pad already made.

Fixed

  • On Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, and Chat, B now steps back through an opened action first, then the current list, and only then to the Lounge tiles — instead of walking through previously visited tabs. Choosing a library, source, or filter lands the controller on the first item in that view.
  • The sofa Lounge entry now sits inside the same full-screen tab strip and matches the height, padding, typography, and interaction styling of Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, and Chat.
  • The Lounge button on full-screen Photos, Music, Videos, Apps, and Chat now returns to the Lounge card deck instead of the Start deck.
  • Changing Music's sort mode no longer triggers Chromium's ResizeObserver loop error while the sort menu updates its labels.
  • The D-pad no longer jumps over a library ad in the Library grid. Left and right now step one tile at a time, so the ad tile takes focus like any cover next to it.
  • The display chords (SELECT + Y / X / B) no longer leave Mission Control standing open behind the display they just switched to, and SELECT's partner buttons no longer double as UI buttons while the chord is held.
  • The FPS overlay no longer draws a shadow under its numbers when it runs without a panel background.
  • On Home, the card deck only changes when the pointer sits on the Start or Lounge card, the way the D-pad only switches decks from the hub tile. Scrolling over a game tile leaves the deck alone, and the Lounge no longer falls through to the For You panel on the way back to Start.
  • Scrolling the right stick on the Home card row no longer slides the row sideways and no longer leaves it without a selection: the row follows the focused card in controller mode, and focus returns to the card you came from when the For You panel closes.
  • The Well-Being check-in and the card-reorder hint now use the same glass as the rest of the chrome instead of two hand-built copies of it.
  • In a game's quick actions, opening Emulator the first time lands in the emulator list instead of jumping to Save Games. The list also starts loading with the menu, so it is usually filled by the time it opens.
  • The Continue card on Home shows live video again while a game runs in the background. Returning to the launcher minimized the game window, and a minimized window has no picture for the capture to read. The game now stays where it is, behind the launcher, and is only minimized if it takes the screen back.
  • The live preview of a running game no longer shows the emulator's own window: Eden, Suyu and other Qt emulators used to appear with their title bar and minimize/maximize/close buttons, menu bar and status bar in frame. The preview now captures the client area and crops to the render surface, and follows along when the window is resized or switches to fullscreen.
  • Coming back up from the For You panel on Home no longer loses the selected card: the tile that slid under the resting mouse pointer used to grab the selection, so Start became the first game in the row.
v1.2.3Sep 17, 2026

Added

  • Saved ROM scan folders with repeat scans, subfolder and exclusion controls, ZIP/7z discovery, and configurable multi-disc grouping. Native RPCS3, ScummVM, and shadPS4 importers read installed game metadata without running Playnite scripts.
  • Emulator configuration in English and German: add unknown executables, use compatible profile templates, edit consoles, ROM extensions, launch arguments, working folders and process tracking, and manage multiple profiles without losing game assignments. The bundled catalog adds 79 direct-launch emulator definitions from Playnite.
  • While backup folders from an earlier version are being reorganized, warmUP says so: a dialog explains that backups were stored in a more complicated way than they needed to be, shows a progress bar, and states plainly that no save game backup is deleted. It asks to leave warmUP open until the work is done, and can be hidden at any time — it then stays hidden for the rest of the session. When the work finishes it turns into a thank-you with a link to the release notes. Installations with nothing to reorganize never see it.
  • Existing savegame backup folders are now reorganized in the background after launch. It waits out startup, pauses while a game is running, and stops once there is nothing left to do.
  • Fullscreen cloud save library in Library & Games settings, with per-game snapshot selection, cloud download, guarded restore, upload, and individual cloud deletion; available in English and German.
  • Savegame backups are now stored in folders named after the game instead of internal ids, and a backup that captured nothing new no longer creates another copy. Existing backups are moved into the new layout automatically; identical copies are merged and older snapshot links keep working.
  • Backup folders are now grouped by where the game comes from: SaveBackups/Epic/Aphelion/ for launcher games and SaveBackups/emulated/PCSX2/Final Fantasy X/ for emulated ones. Backups from earlier versions are moved into place in the background.

Changed

  • The desktop lint now runs shadcn/lint against warmUP's own theme and components: arbitrary sizes, raw palette colours, restyled primitives and inline styles are reported with the token or variant to use instead, and a warning budget stops new findings from landing.
  • The type ladder, the shared easing curve and CSS-variable classes are now real Tailwind tokens (text-wu-*, ease-wu-standard, w-(--x)), replacing 950 bracketed one-offs with no change to how anything renders.
  • Status colours across the app (success, warning, info, error tints on badges, callouts, presence dots, rating labels) now come from the theme instead of raw palette shades, so they follow warmUP's own green / amber / blue / red. GPU vendor and Twitch brand colours are named theme tokens.

Fixed

  • Switching a game to a different emulator works again. Since the ROM scan update, picking another emulator failed with an internal database error and left the game on its old one.
  • Display-connection wizard copy now wraps with balanced / pretty line breaks as intended; the classes it used did not exist in Tailwind v4.
  • Secondary buttons, the muted-purple chart accents on Performance and Stats, and filled platform badges referenced theme colours that were never wired up and rendered with no fill; secondary, chart-* and primary-container are now real theme tokens.
  • The "Add application" tiles on the Applications screen and in the Lounge show their dashed outline again.
  • Suyu and Citron now start in real fullscreen on a scaled display instead of showing the game as a small picture in a grey frame. Their own fullscreen setting is switched on before launch, and the DPI compatibility layer Eden needs is no longer forced on them, so Qt 6.9 can cover the whole panel.
  • Opening an emulator’s configuration from the “Add emulator” panel no longer draws the panel on top of the dialog.
  • Adding a known emulator no longer opens the setup dialog first — it is added right away with its built-in profile, the way it always was. The dialog is reserved for the Configure button and for programs warmUP does not recognise.
  • Hover and focus rings no longer get clipped at the edges of the emulator setup dialog.
  • In the file picker, the row the controller last sat on no longer stays highlighted next to the file actually selected.
  • ROM imports now ask which emulator to use when several profiles match the same extension. Missing libretro cores are excluded from import and selection, and re-importing an emulator preserves existing game bindings and edited profiles.
  • Eden, Suyu, and Citron can now be added as Switch emulators, including their command-line builds, with fullscreen ROM launch profiles and controller handoff.
  • A gifted Ad-Free subscription that never expires no longer claims to run for "1 month" in the thank-you badge. Permanent gifts now read as plain Ad-Free; the billing term stays reserved for actual purchases.
  • Backup runs that captured no files are now cleared out during the folder migration instead of being listed as needing a look.
  • A backup run that finds no save files no longer leaves an empty snapshot folder behind, so games that have never been played stop collecting folders that hold nothing but bookkeeping.
  • Backup folders left over from earlier versions are cleaned up for good: runs that captured nothing are removed even when an older warmUP had set them aside as unreadable, and game folders left without a single snapshot go with them.
  • Backups whose folder was labelled with an internal placeholder instead of the game it belongs to are filed back under the right game, so they show up on the game's card again — and emulated games land under their emulator instead of their console.
v1.2.2Sep 15, 2026

Changed

  • Removed exposure trails and motion blur from the launch zoom; the game preview stays sharp while zooming.
  • Launch preview now matches the height from the cover's top edge to the launch status text's bottom edge, with a 16:9 frame instead of a fixed percentage of the screen.
  • Launch zoom now eases in slowly for 700 ms before rushing to exactly fullscreen in the final 150 ms, with image trails concentrated on the acceleration.
  • Game launch dissolves the cover, text and hints together, then fades the game in at 35% size over 900 ms. After a 1.8-second hold, an 850 ms zoom accelerates into fullscreen with image trails, stopping at exactly 100% without overshooting or shrinking at handoff. Reduced motion and capture timeout fallbacks remain supported.
  • The Seamless Game Start chip on the Home Resume card now shows for every account, including those without warmUP Plus that do not see AI taglines.

Fixed

  • Games with their own pre-game launcher (Crimson Desert) no longer finish the launch handoff on the launcher window. The launcher is recognised as a bootstrap surface, and when the game window cannot be placed yet, warmUP keeps watching for up to three minutes and moves focus and the live preview onto the real game window as soon as it appears.
  • Launch status and the manual continue button now sit below the game title; the button uses the shared game-start style with an animated white halo.
  • Returning to warmUP from a running game now takes the display the way Playnite does: the game window is minimized so it stops reading the controller and rendering behind the launcher. Guide back into the game restores it.
  • Manually installed games that Windows will not start without elevation now launch through the shell (same working folder as Playnite) so warmUP keeps the real process id; if the launcher cannot sit behind the game it hides instead of covering it, and the companion switches to in-game input as soon as the session is handed off.
  • Windowed games can complete launch detection behind warmUP even at smaller resolutions; tracked launches disable desktop controller mouse emulation before fullscreen detection finishes, and changed game PIDs are forwarded to the companion.
  • Launch screen lighting now reflects each game's cover colors instead of adding a purple glow.
  • Automatic launch backups run in the background alongside game startup, so cloud uploads no longer delay launching.
  • Removed the sleep-mode screen with the Guide-button prompt that could cover games when continuing a session.
  • Game focus handoff no longer deactivates foreground games, and returning to warmUP no longer couples its input queue to a potentially unresponsive game.
  • Jump Screen's Create/View + Circle/B shortcut now disconnects other active displays even when a previous display backup exists, and resolves the target again after changing the primary display.
v1.2.1Sep 14, 2026

Added

  • Turning automatic savegame backups on now asks for cloud consent first: a short explainer of cloud save backups and the included storage (1 GB free, 10 GB with warmUP Plus), then the consent itself with a link to the privacy policy, and finally a storage upgrade offer for free accounts. Backing out before consenting leaves backups off.
  • Settings → Library & Games → Savegame Backups shows whether cloud backup consent is granted and lets you withdraw it. Withdrawing asks twice, then deletes every save game in your warmUP cloud vault; local snapshots stay on your PC.
  • Without cloud consent, savegame snapshots stay on your device — warmUP no longer uploads saves to the cloud vault.
  • A notification-style dialog explains when cloud save storage is full: free accounts can upgrade to Plus for 9 GB more, and Plus accounts over 10 GB are asked to email [email protected]. It opens only after a cloud backup is blocked by the 1 GB or 10 GB limit.
  • Enabling automatic savegame backups installs Ludusavi when needed, enables backups before launch and after exit, and uploads existing saves for installed games missing a cloud backup. Individual lifecycle options can still be turned off manually.
  • Library shows an Auto-Backup control next to Sync Library so you can turn automatic savegame backups on for every game and see when they are on.

Changed

  • For You and Home recommendation rows share the TV focus halo used elsewhere in the app: one consistent outline instead of per-card borders and scale pops, wider spacing between covers, larger ad headline and body text, and an opaque favourite heart whose colour the halo matches.
  • The selected For You card shows a short game description under its title, and the artwork of neighbouring cards is prepared before you reach them so the landscape still is already there on selection.
  • Holding left or right across the Home game row plays the navigation sound at the start and when it stops, instead of on every step.
  • CI runs again on every push and pull request: dependency install, desktop and backend lint, and the desktop, game-metadata and backend test suites all have to pass before a change lands on main.

Fixed

  • Returning to warmUP from the Guide no longer raises the runtime error "ResizeObserver loop completed with undelivered notifications" on the For You feed.
  • Returning to warmUP from the Guide, or from another app, keeps the For You card that was selected instead of dropping the selection.
  • Savegame backups resolve Steam/GOG identities and normalized game titles, include manual install locations, and capture PCSX2 memory cards with game-specific save states and Yuzu saves by title ID. Restores retain the exact backup identity; the IRON NEST GOG demo uses its shared save namespace.
  • Guide no longer treats normal maximized or large captioned desktop windows (including editors behind the foreground app) as external fullscreen games. Without a running game, it uses the button bar's minimize action without repositioning warmUP first.
  • Cloud save backups work again for accounts whose cloud storage was already set up; the backend no longer fails an upload when Nextcloud refuses the routine quota sync.
  • Account, cloud save, and subscription requests reach the backend again after a Docker healthcheck marked the production container unhealthy.
  • Windows launches warmUP on the monitor under the mouse pointer; saved jump destinations no longer wake another display or move the window on startup or development reloads.
  • Savegame Backups in Settings → Library & Games, and the Save Games action on a game card (Y / Triangle), are available in release builds instead of only during development.
  • Download sidebar counters now use colored circular status icons in a fixed three-column grid, preventing overlapping labels on wide screens while retaining translated tooltips and screen-reader labels.
  • The top bar returns to Search Your Library after music has been paused for five minutes; resuming playback restores the mini-player outside Music.
  • Installing a game through the Steam client now switches to its assigned owning account before opening the installer, and waits for confirmation. Failed switches or required sign-in stop the install.
v1.2.0Sep 11, 2026

Added

  • Lounge shows a compact three-quarter-width bento preview: a mixed overview on the hub and category previews on focus, with fixed tile sizes, four music titles, and 16:9 videos. Daily selections persist per profile and use recent viewing activity; opening a category still shows its full workspace.
  • Back from the Lounge hub returns to Start, including when focus is lost. Deck navigation registrations survive development hot reloads.
  • Lounge cards retain their normal selection growth without the extra zoom from the white focus halo; workspace spacing stays aligned.
  • Removed the Your Lounge overview mosaic and its reserved space beneath the category cards. Activating the Lounge hub now focuses the first category.
  • Lounge category tiles retain their expanded size inside a section; the content aligns with the tile top and leaves room for its full width.
  • Lounge Photos prioritizes screenshot folders and combines photo-folder filters with years; the viewer respects the selection. Photos and Videos keep folder management in a compact menu instead of showing technical Windows source rows.
  • The Lounge hub shelf now opens the thing you picked — a photo, video, app, friend or album — instead of only its category. Now playing on the shelf toggles pause without leaving Home. Lounge preview videos fill their tile height, and music tiles show a music note icon instead of a vinyl disc.
  • Photos, Music and Videos list the folders warmUP reads and let you remove extra folders you added. Photos can filter by year and run a slideshow in the viewer.
  • Videos show a Keep watching row, couch transport controls, next and previous in the same folder, optional autoplay, and fullscreen.
  • Music remembers your track position, reopens your last album, can play every visible album at once, and floats folders that match your most recently played game.
  • Lounge Apps sort by pins and recents, can add applications from the grid, and launch straight from a shelf tile.
  • Lounge Chat offers Connect Discord when offline, puts party invite first when a friend is playing, and opens matching library games when warmUP knows them.
  • warmUP reads photo capture dates and music tags from your files so On this day and track titles are more accurate.
  • Settings → Privacy can turn off Lounge access to your photo and video folders. That does not send anything anywhere — it only stops listing those folders on your PC until you grant access again.
  • Home has a second deck: press D-pad up on the Start card and the cards slide away for the Lounge, a space for everything that is not a game. Two small strokes beside the Start and Lounge cards show which deck you are on, and D-pad down on the Lounge card brings the games back. Lounge hub and category cards show the same pulsing white TV focus ring as other couch controls on hover and gamepad focus, with enough headroom so the ring is not clipped at the top of the deck.
  • Picking a Lounge card sweeps the cards left into a stack with your choice on top, and the space beside it becomes that category's own view. Photos lays your pictures out as a mosaic with an "On this day" row and a full-screen viewer. Music turns folders into albums with a player that keeps playing while you browse games. Videos plays in place and remembers where you stopped. Apps shows the applications from the Applications screen and starts them without leaving Home. Chat lists the friends who are online — pick one to see their profile, invite them to a party, or write to them, with the conversation being the same one Game Base shows.
  • Photos, Music and Videos read your Windows folders and can be pointed at extra folders of your own through the in-app file picker.
  • Photos and Videos in the Lounge now ask first. The first time you open either one, the workspace shows what warmUP would read and states plainly that your pictures and videos stay on your PC — nothing is uploaded, nothing is sent to us, and nobody at warmUP can see or open them. Nothing is read until you pick Grant access, and the privacy policy is one press away.
  • B on a Lounge category card returns to the Lounge card without leaving the Lounge.
  • Friend portraits, their names, the Send message / View profile actions and the conversation itself are one size larger in the Lounge, sized for reading from the couch.
  • Music in the Lounge is a proper player now. A transport bar sits above the albums and the tracks — what is playing, shuffle, repeat all and repeat track, previous / play / next — and the seek bar with the volume slider sits at the foot of the track list, the width of the song list rather than the whole workspace. Repeat track replays the song when it ends, shuffle scrambles only what comes after the song you are on, and pressing previous more than three seconds in restarts the track before it steps back. The playing track is marked in the list, album and track names are a size larger for reading from the couch, and file extensions no longer show up in the names.
  • Lounge music keeps playing when you leave Music — for another Lounge category, the Start deck or anywhere else in warmUP — and it now pauses the launcher's own Ambient Music instead of playing over it. The ambient bed fades out, stops, and picks up again when you pause the track.
  • Leaving Music while a track is playing swaps the top-bar "Search your library" field for a mini player: the song title, a thin seek bar, and previous / play-pause / next. Search slides up and the player slides in; going back into Music reverses it. Library, For You, Start and every other screen show the player while Music itself keeps the search field. Shuffle, repeat and transport controls in that mini player use the same glowing TV focus ring as Lounge Music on hover and gamepad focus.
  • In the Lounge Music workspace, L1 and R1 (LB and RB) adjust music volume instead of switching between Library and For You. Tap for a small step, hold for a faster ramp — the volume slider in the transport bar moves with you.
  • Lounge Music Play library queues every track from every folder you added, shows them together on the right, and highlights the folder of the song that is playing on the left — including when shuffle jumps between folders.
  • In Lounge Music, the top bar hides Library and For You so bumpers only control volume, and a controller hint shows LB/RB or L1/R1 for volume depending on your pad.
  • The 2026 Steam Controller now works in warmUP without Steam running. It is recognised over USB, Bluetooth and the wireless puck, gets Xbox-style button glyphs, appears as its own entry in the Settings → Controller button reference, and its back paddles (L4/R4/L5/R5), Quick Access Menu button and right trackpad click now reach the launcher as button presses.

Fixed

  • Lounge Music lists only folders you added yourself on the left, keeps them after restart, and lets you remove them there — no Windows Music library and no duplicate folder bar on top.
  • Lounge Chat View profile now opens the friend's profile inside the chat panel instead of navigating to a route that does not exist.
  • Lounge Music no longer auto-scans the Windows Music library — only folders you add yourself are read, nested album trees are scanned deeper, and newly added folders show up right away.
  • Opening the on-screen keyboard in a Lounge conversation no longer draws a rectangle around the message field and the Send / Back buttons.
  • Opening a Lounge category now puts the controller on the first thing inside it — Grant access, Add folder, or the first photo, track, video, app or friend — instead of leaving focus on the category card. The card stays visible but is not a D-pad target until you press B.
  • The on-screen keyboard no longer pushes the Lounge conversation around: it docks to the bottom of the screen as everywhere else, and the conversation panel is short enough to leave it that band, so nothing moves when you start typing.
  • Writing to a friend in the Lounge no longer takes over the screen: the conversation opens inside the same panel the actions are in, and B takes you back to Send message / View profile / Invite to party instead of closing everything. The panel opens on the side there is room for — pick someone on the right of the wall and it opens to their left.
  • The friend wall shows bigger portraits with smaller names, and status is a dot on the picture instead of a line of text: green for online, amber for away, and a greyed-out portrait with a grey dot for offline. The portraits drift slowly on their own circles, each one offset from the next, so the wall never sits completely still.
  • The Lounge cards sit on their own. Hovering Photos, Music and the rest used to zoom the coloured face past the tile and then crop it left and right, which also left a coloured rim that looked like a second card underneath. The tiles still grow in width; they no longer scale-pop or clip. "Your Lounge" under the cards still shows the living shelf of photos, music, videos, apps and chat. A (Xbox) / Cross (PlayStation) on the Lounge card is the way into those tiles; D-pad down from Photos, Music and the rest does not drop into the shelf.
  • Lounge workspaces now share the category row’s vertical offset. Chat includes offline and unknown-status friends, with online and idle contacts first.
  • Lounge content aligns with its category card while keeping focus rings unclipped. Video stills load serially for visible tiles and remain cached without hover; Chat actions show the TV focus halo immediately on opening.
  • Opening a Lounge category now replaces the hub card without an overlapping stack. Media grids reserve room for focus effects, photo viewers escape animated containers, video previews load only for the selected tile, and Chat actions open beside the selected contact with isolated focus and Send Message first. Category lighting no longer has a hard orbit outline.
  • Lounge presents dimensional category cards and TV-sized workspaces. Direct messages open in a full TV dialog with a fixed composer; party chrome fades away when entering Lounge.
  • Browse by genre on For You no longer puts the same game's artwork on several tiles. Because games carry more than one genre, one title could end up as the picture for Action, Adventure and Shooter at the same time. Every genre now claims its own artwork, and a genre with nothing left of its own shows its colour gradient instead of a repeat.

Changed

  • Your Lounge is no longer five category posters. It fills with a stacked mosaic of what you actually have: recent chats as small portraits, new photos and albums taking the larger cells around them, videos and apps. Two chats no longer swell to fill the board. The layout reshuffles a little each day so the shelf feels alive.
  • More buttons sweep the same animated focus ring as Play Now and Start Game, tinted to their own colour: the adblock wall, the For You sponsored hero, the Mission Control news and teaser actions, the supporter roadmap, the profile editor, the display setup wizard's Identify screens, the Stats page actions and the artwork picker's confirm. They previously showed a plain ring or nothing at all while the buttons next to them swept.
  • Home now keeps explicitly pinned games first, followed by games ranked by recent play frequency. Automatic order stays stable until the next app start; moving a card does not pin it. Pin and unpin actions are available in English and German.
  • The download indicator on game covers is easier to read from the couch: the "Downloading" label and the percentage moved up one step on the type scale, and the progress bar underneath is a little thicker.
v1.1.9Sep 8, 2026

Added

  • A new controller shortcut jumps warmUP to your Jump Screen and turns every other display off in one press: hold Create/View and press Circle/B (Create + Triangle still jumps without touching the other monitors, Create + Square still returns). The switch-back shortcut brings the other displays back.
  • Settings → Display now explains the Jump Screen: it shows which display is marked, lists all three controller shortcuts with their glyphs, and offers a direct way to choose a Jump Screen.

Fixed

  • Slow game starts no longer drop you back on Home while the game is still coming up. A Steam cold start that spends more than half a minute launching kept the launch screen open until a 30 second guard closed it; the guard now only covers the steps before the launch begins and gives the launch itself up to three minutes.
  • The FPS overlay now shows a localized measurement failure when capture fails instead of silently displaying only a dash.
  • Emulated games no longer gain another ROM's play history through shared emulator processes or folders, keeping the Home Resume card on the game that was actually played.
  • Controller navigation keeps its focus selection when returning from games. Native focus tracking ignores stale window queries, controller sleep/wake updates stay ordered, and startup activation retries briefly when Windows initially refuses focus.

Changed

  • The Game Base rail is easier to read and now carries state: Parties shows your party size and Chat carries an unread badge, so you can see what is going on without opening each section. The rail keeps its width instead of shrinking when a section opens — the panel no longer shifts sideways on every step and the labels stay readable from the couch. Friends, Parties and Chat got icons you can tell apart at a distance, the open section is marked with a coloured edge that is distinct from the one you are only browsing, and Close is a labelled button at the bottom instead of a bare X. The online and in-party badges next to the footer's legal links are gone.
  • The launch screen is calmer and better organised: the cover and game title stand alone in the middle above a slim progress bar, and the "Game starting" heading is gone. Launch status, the "Game already open?" escape hatch and the button prompts now sit together in the bottom-left corner, on the same line as the tips shortcut on the right. Launch status text is localized for the first time.
  • Game source actions and status text use the shared 18px settings scale, with account buttons expanding for longer labels. Collection filters and the emulator replacement field match the existing 48px dialog controls; refresh-rate and child-profile menu items and update notes reuse the shared supporting text size.
v1.1.8Sep 7, 2026

Changed

  • The Minimize to Windows tile uses the white Windows logo instead of the generic monitor icon.
  • Connecting Discord now happens in a warmUP sign-in window instead of switching to the desktop browser, the same way the Epic Games, GOG and Amazon connections already work. The window opens in front of the fullscreen launcher and takes focus, and if it cannot open at all warmUP still falls back to the browser.
  • Settings buttons now carry the same animated focus ring everywhere. Game source actions (Connect, Disconnect, folder pick and clear), the Steam install handler choice, the library filter layout and count steppers, the save game backup sign-in and upgrade actions, the profile actions, and the subscription page buttons sweep the same ring as Change game screen, tinted to their own colour.

Added

  • While an emulated game runs, the tile above the Continue card offers "Save current state" next to "Minimize to Windows". It sends the emulator its save-state hotkey without pulling it to the front, and confirms with a short message. Supported for PCSX2, PPSSPP, RetroArch and Project64; emulators without a known save hotkey and PC games do not show the tile.

Fixed

  • The covers under "Continue Playing" on the Stats page can be used: a press starts the game like the Home tile does, and they take controller focus. Games that cannot start right now (not installed, repair pending) open Game Details instead.
  • Game Details names the same action the same way on both pages. The Media page no longer offers "Continue" for a game that needs a repair, an emulated game without an emulator or ROM asks to re-link instead of promising a start, and the "Manage" button is called "Rename" because that is the dialog it opens.
  • Closing the new-collection dialog with Escape, Cancel or a finished creation returns the focus to the "New collection" tile instead of dropping it on the page, so controller navigation keeps its place.
  • The library shows games in the first screen at 1080p again: the greeting hero was about 190 px taller than its content needed and pushed the first row of covers below the fold.
  • In a Settings detail page, the D-pad no longer leaves the page by itself: pressing up on the first setting or down on the last one stays put instead of jumping into the category list on the left. B / Circle still goes back.
  • The tile above the Continue card shows that it rotates: one dot per card, and the active dot fills over the five seconds until the next one. Pointer or controller focus anywhere on the tile holds the rotation, so a card no longer swaps out while it is being reached for — that hold previously only worked on the Minimize to Windows card.
  • Mission Control no longer lists a Patreon link that pointed at a placeholder address.
  • The panel behind the top bar button is called Mission Control everywhere, and the display switch that turns off extra monitors during play carries one name in both Mission Control and Settings.
  • Launch failure messages are translated instead of appearing in mixed German and English.
  • The download queue counters (Active, Queued, Scheduled, Steam, Done, Failed) sit in one row on wide screens instead of a tall stack, so the queue and its actions are visible without scrolling. Narrow windows get a 3x2 grid.
  • Well-Being shows how long ago the last break was in readable steps — minutes, hours, days, and a plain date after a week — instead of counting into four-digit hour values like "1366h 51m ago".
  • Weekday labels in the Well-Being week overview and the "Today" label now follow the language selected in warmUP instead of the operating system.
  • The new-collection dialog labels its name field, links the validation message to it for screen readers, and no longer announces the AI suggestion button as disabled while it still reacts to a press. Collection messages (creation, errors, AI suggestions) are translated instead of always English.
  • The subscription thank-you celebration no longer reappears on Home after it has already been acknowledged for the same plan and billing period. A new subscription, a plan change or a renewal still shows it once.
  • Opening the controller keyboard with L3 while warmUP is minimized no longer pulls warmUP back onto the screen with its bottom bar open. The keyboard now stays alone in front of the desktop, and the launcher keeps ignoring controller input until it is really back in the foreground.
  • Locally launched packaged Unreal Engine games now receive the controller focus setting before launch, so their normal input polling can stop when returning to warmUP. Existing Engine.ini files are backed up and unrelated settings are preserved; games and live previews keep running. Games with custom input polling or a blocked focus switch still require separate handling.
  • Game launch display placement stops retrying after a rejected fullscreen change and stops when returning to warmUP. Slow monitor checks no longer overlap or resize the game after the launcher wakes, and failed launcher stacking is no longer repeated throughout launch confirmation.
  • Party and Discord notices now use plain language in English and German, with a Connect Discord action when signed out. Internal SDK setup instructions, permission identifiers, and raw diagnostic errors are no longer shown in Game Base.
  • warmUP now activates its visible launcher window on startup so controller navigation does not require pressing Guide first.
  • Opening a game from Home no longer flashes a grey placeholder layout on the game details page after a fresh warmUP start. The details screen is warmed up in the background once the app is idle, so the page appears directly instead of showing a loading stand-in.
  • D-pad up and down in Resume from save state stay in the list of save states instead of dropping onto Resume or Launch after the last entry. The list wraps around as before, the footer buttons are reached with D-pad right, and pressing the confirm button while one of them is focused now presses that button instead of resuming the row behind it.
  • Resume from save state lists its save states at the same text size as the rest of the dialog. Slot and timestamp were set several steps smaller than the title and description, which made them the hardest line to read from the couch, and the serial badge next to them has grown with it.
  • Updating warmUP no longer ends with a warning that the controller companion service install failed when that service is already installed. The installer keeps the existing companion in place, and only warns when the service is genuinely missing afterwards.
v1.1.7Sep 6, 2026

Changed

  • The For You alpha-state button and its information modal have been removed, including their loading placeholders. Focusing or hovering View Details stops automatic rotation until the hero is remounted; other controls do not trigger the stop. Manual navigation remains available and the countdown pauses too.
  • For You hero metadata has equal spacing toward the title and description, trimming their outer font spacing for visual balance.
  • For You hero metadata can use the full content width, keeping genres on the same line more often while preserving the title and description widths.
  • For You artwork headers use a smaller game title and a larger metadata text tier for clearer hierarchy.
  • For You artwork headers now place category or release date, rating, and genres below the title and above the description as plain text with centered dot separators. Release icons remain, and genres no longer sit beside View Details.
  • The For You artwork header now brings each complete hero in from the right over the previous one, keeping the previous page mounted until it is fully covered. The 1.65-second transition has a longer, damped finish for manual and automatic changes. Navigation stays fixed and reduced motion skips the slide.
  • For You game-row selection gently fades through black over 720 ms, with a soft darkening and a longer reveal, while keeping the direct full-size switch. Reduced motion skips the effect.
  • For You game rows now switch focused games directly into the expanded frame without sliding, stretching, or crossfading the artwork.
  • D-pad left and right on the For You hero button (Play Trailer, View Details, or an ad's call to action) now move to the carousel arrow on that side instead of going nowhere. An arrow that cannot scroll any further keeps focus where it is.
  • For You quick-peek actions and the hero Play Trailer button now carry the same full-size animated focus ring as Play Now and Start Game, with more space between Wishlist and Save for later so the rings do not touch. On short screens the quick peek shortens the description instead of pushing those buttons past the panel edge, where their ring was being cut off.
  • The greeting at the top of the Library now rises into view line by line the first time you open the Library after starting warmUP. Later visits in the same session show the text right away, and the animation is skipped when the system asks for reduced motion.

Fixed

  • The on-screen keyboard now opens in front of every fullscreen screen and dialog instead of disappearing behind some of them. It was raised screen by screen as problems turned up — most recently the email confirmation and password reset dialogs, where the code field looked like it opened nothing at all. It now stacks above the whole app everywhere except the Game Base dock, where it belongs inside the panel.
  • warmUP no longer switches a monitor back on at startup that you turned off yourself. After jumping to your TV and then disabling the desk monitor in Screen & Sound, the next launch woke that monitor again and moved warmUP over to it. warmUP now starts on the screen that is actually on, and only restores monitors at startup that warmUP itself had switched off during a jump. Returning to the desk monitor with the switch-back shortcut still works and still turns it back on.
  • The Sign out button in Settings → Account and subscriptions is properly red again instead of a washed-out tint, matching Close Application and every other destructive dialog button.
  • Picking the email field on the account screen now brings the on-screen keyboard up in front of it. The keyboard was rendering behind the fullscreen account panel, so the field looked like it opened nothing.
  • Confirmation dialogs such as Settings → Close Application now show the selection ring on their pre-selected button right away. The button was already selected, but the ring only appeared after the first D-pad move, so the dialog looked like nothing was selected at all.
v1.1.6Sep 4, 2026

Fixed

  • Coming back to warmUP from a running game with the PS or Guide button no longer leaves the pointer dead. The launcher was on screen while the game still held the Windows foreground, which switched the controller's mouse control off entirely — warmUP now takes the foreground back so the stick and the confirm button work again. One case Windows does not allow: a game started with administrator rights while warmUP was not. warmUP now recognises it and notes it in the log instead of trying in vain — start the game without administrator rights, or run warmUP as administrator.
  • Navigating warmUP while a game is running is smooth again. The pointer moved in steps and the interface felt like it was hanging, because the check for which window is in front scanned the whole list of running programs four times a second. That answer is now remembered per window.
  • Opening warmUP over a running game no longer steers the game behind it. When a fullscreen or borderless game keeps the Windows foreground, the controller stick and the confirm button stop moving the mouse and clicking into the game's menus, and a pointer the game locked to its own window is released again so the mouse can be moved freely in warmUP.
  • Installing or updating warmUP no longer stops on repeated "Error opening file for writing" errors for the bundled video files (gst-launch-1.0.exe, glib-2.0-0.dll and friends). The live game preview's helper process is now shut down together with warmUP even after a crash, and the installer closes a leftover helper before replacing those files — so an update can no longer end up half-installed by clicking Ignore.
v1.1.5Sep 3, 2026

Added

  • Settings → Performance can now turn off Windows extras in one switch: personalized offers and tips, recommendations and notifications in Windows Settings, the advertising ID, website access to the language list, app-launch tracking and on-device text & image generation (Windows AI). An explainer lists exactly what changes before anything is applied, and switching it off restores the previous Windows choices.

Changed

  • The Profile screen's blurred Home backdrop now runs cooler: it no longer drives Home's gamepad, keyboard, and scroll wiring behind the scenes, and every animated shader background pauses once it scrolls off screen instead of rendering forever.
  • Metadata sync and Steam achievement refreshes are noticeably faster on large libraries: title lookups now use a case-insensitive index instead of scanning the whole cache, and achievement definitions are written in a single batched pass instead of one row at a time.
  • Every couch-scale button — settings rows, modals, fullscreen flows — now uses the same focus ring as the Start Game button on a game page: a transparent gap, then a ring that swings from thick to thin while fading out. The ring always takes the colour of the button it belongs to — purple for the main action, red for closing the app or deleting, white for a white pill — instead of the old purple rim on every button. Grey Cancel/Back buttons stay grey and get a lighter grey ring.
  • The Restart warmUP and Close Application buttons at the bottom of Settings are now as tall as the Start Game button, and the gap between them, to the legal links above and to the page bottom is wider so their focus rings no longer touch. Display setup steps (Change game screen, jump screen questions, Disconnect display) got the same extra breathing room between their choices, and settings rows sit a little further apart so the rings have room.

Fixed

  • Twitch live streams play in the installed Windows app. The packaged UI now loads over HTTPS, which Twitch requires for its embed; previously the player showed an error after install even though the same streams worked in development. Profiles, library collections and other in-app preferences stored in the browser are copied over on the first launch after this update.
  • Searching metadata after adding a .bat no longer brings the "Add a cover?" prompt back when the metadata wizard closes.
v1.1.4Sep 2, 2026

Added

  • Adding a .bat by hand now offers to give it artwork straight away: a prompt asks for a cover, then for a backdrop. Each step can upload an image from your PC, and the cover step can hand over to the regular metadata search when the script starts a game that exists in the database. Both steps are skippable, and the script is in the library either way.

Changed

  • The Library hero cover strip now hangs slightly over the Sync pill instead of fading out above it.
  • For You row and genre-category arrow buttons now appear for mouse use only while no gamepad is connected; the separate hero navigation arrows are unchanged.
  • For You game rails now keep a stationary Netflix-style focus frame while every game, including the final cards, moves directly from right to left into it. Focused artwork is a wider 16:9 without changing card height, and the previous card returns to portrait width with a short, soft morph. Browse by Genre uses the same stationary-frame movement.
  • The spinning accent line on the Resume game card is twice as thick, growing inward so the card itself does not get larger.
  • The release notes page now reads at TV distance: headlines, section titles, body copy and every icon on the page are two type steps larger than before. Other legal pages keep their previous sizing.
  • Frosted panels now bend the picture behind them instead of only blurring it: the top bar, the dock with its party pill and Game Base panel, the news tile on the home screen, Quick Settings, the party and chat cards, the Play and … buttons on a game page and the achievement cards read as glass with thickness rather than flat translucent rectangles. They are also clearer than before — the blur behind them is far lighter — and each panel carries a thin lit edge along its top.

Fixed

  • Settings no longer pops the on-screen keyboard by itself: moving the gamepad focus onto the search field at the top no longer opens the keyboard, and cancelling it no longer makes it reappear. Press A on the field (or click it) to type. D-pad up from the first category now reaches that search field, and down from it goes back into the category list.
  • Announcement artwork in the message center is no longer cropped top and bottom: the picture now spans the full width of the reading column in full 16:9.
  • A game page no longer offers to "Continue" a game that has never been started: an installed game you have not played yet now says "Play", and only a game with recorded playtime says "Continue". On German the three labels on that button were stuck in English and are now translated.
v1.1.3Sep 1, 2026

Added

  • Add Game can pick a Windows .bat file. It shows in the library like any other manual game, and Play runs it on the Windows desktop.
  • PS2 games with a PCSX2 save state now ask whether to resume: starting the game opens a picker listing the existing save states, newest first, plus a "Start fresh" option. warmUP reads the disc serial to show only the states that belong to the game; when the serial cannot be read (compressed images, unusual dumps) it lists every state and shows its serial so the state can be identified before resuming. Games without save states start exactly as before.
  • Starting a PS2 game now sets PCSX2 up for controller-only play: it saves a state when you quit (so the resume picker can offer it next time), pauses when you switch away instead of running on in the background, and leaves the "Playing …" Discord status to warmUP rather than announcing itself. Your other PCSX2 settings are left exactly as they are, and the original configuration is backed up next to it as PCSX2.ini.warmup-backup before the first change.
  • Announcement artwork now also appears at the top of the announcement in the message center, above the headline — previously it was only visible in the pre-notification modal.
  • The "Seamless Game Start" chip on the home screen now plays a short animation whenever you come back from a game and the Resume card updates: the icon warps forward and pulls the label back into view behind it, with a brief accent glow on the chip. The chip stays visible and static afterwards.
  • Emulated games now ask which emulator should run them: after importing a ROM that no emulator profile claims, a picker opens with the installed emulators, matching ones marked by a green check. The choice is saved, and every emulated game gains an "Emulator" entry in its context menu to change it later. Store games are unaffected.

Fixed

  • In a For You genre, moving the controller back up to Back now scrolls all the way to the top of the page.
  • On For You, a focused game card keeps its title, genre and release year under the cover. Expanding the cell no longer moves that caption onto the artwork, and the line no longer flashes away during the widen animation. Names longer than the cover are cut with an ellipsis so they cannot overlap the next card.
  • The file picker now always lists every file in a folder, whatever its extension. Files it cannot use stay visible but greyed out instead of being hidden, so a folder no longer looks empty or incomplete — choosing an emulator folder used to show only subfolders, making the .exe next to them look missing. The former "Show all files" button only ever controlled which files could be picked and is now named "Allow any file type".
  • A moved or renamed emulator folder can now be repaired instead of re-imported: emulators whose folder is gone appear in a repair row under the emulator shelf with a "Re-link folder" button. Picking the new folder keeps the emulator and every game assigned to it — previously the only way out was to add the emulator a second time and reassign its ROMs. A folder that holds no executable for that emulator is refused rather than stored and left to fail at launch.
  • The launch failure sheet no longer reloads warmUP on its way to Settings: its repair actions navigated by rewriting the browser address, which restarted the whole app first.
  • Adding Ryujinx as an emulator failed with "could not add emulator" although the folder held the emulator: the detection only accepted a lowercase ryujinx.exe, while the real download ships Ryujinx.exe. Detection now ignores upper/lower case and also recognizes the Ryubing builds (Ryubing.exe).
  • Opening the launcher over a running game no longer lets the D-pad drive that game in the background. Emulators such as PCSX2 keep reading the controller even while the Currently Playing card is on screen; warmUP now parks them until you go back to the game.
  • PS2 games launched into the PlayStation 2 system screen instead of the game: the PCSX2 profiles booted through the full BIOS (-slowboot / --fullboot). They now fast-boot the disc directly. Existing libraries are corrected on update — including games that had copied the old arguments into their own entry.
  • A hand-picked ROM now actually lands in the library: the import dropped files whose extension no emulator profile advertised (a PS2 .iso, for example) and reported nothing added. Explicitly selected files are imported regardless of extension — warmUP asks which emulator should run them instead of guessing; folder scans keep their extension filter.
  • Emulated games no longer lose their emulator link the moment they are played: saving a game rewrote its library row with REPLACE, and the ROM and emulator bindings hang off that row with ON DELETE CASCADE, so they were deleted underneath the launch. Launches then failed with "ROM choice does not belong to game" or "Emulator binding not found". Library saves and ROM imports now update the row in place.
  • Importing emulated games no longer crashes the screen with "This screen hit an error": the freshly imported entries reached the library as raw backend payloads (tags as a JSON string instead of a list).
  • "Add emulated game" no longer hides ROMs: the file picker lists every file in a folder instead of only the extensions the selected emulator profile advertises, so a PS2 .iso (and any other image) can be picked directly. "Show all files" now also makes those files selectable everywhere the picker is used.

Changed

  • Opening a For You genre no longer repeats the genre name as a second heading under the artwork. The banner is taller, and the list starts at "Picks for …".
  • On For You, status chips on game covers (Trending, New, Must Play, Retro, In library, No trailer) now use the same text size as the release-date chip.
  • The For You "New" chip now uses a starburst instead of the "NEW" wordmark icon.
  • Playtime, last-played, and "Seamless Game Start" chips on the Home Resume card now use the same background as the Resume footer instead of a dark overlay on the artwork.
  • The file picker now reopens where you left it, also after restarting warmUP: the folder you were last in is remembered per entry point (emulator executable, ROM import, warmUP games folder) with the most recent folder of any of them as the fallback for one you have not used yet. If a remembered folder no longer exists, the picker opens at your home folder as before.
  • The file picker (used by "Choose emulator executable", ROM import and every other file/folder choice) now fills the screen height with an even margin at the top and bottom instead of leaving a wide gap below, and all of its text — titles, breadcrumbs, drive list, file names, size and date columns, buttons and gamepad hints — is one step larger for couch readability; the location names in the sidebar (Home, Desktop, Downloads …), the file and folder names and the "Folder"/file-type line under them take another step on top of that so they lead over the metadata around them. Rows, controls and the metadata columns grew with the type so nothing is clipped.
  • While a game is running, the "press Y to switch monitors or quit" tip no longer sits on top of "Minimize to Windows". It now shares that tile above the Continue card, rotating every few seconds in one larger title line. Rotation pauses while Minimize to Windows is focused or hovered. After you use Quit or Switch monitor the tip hides, then comes back only if you keep launching games for 30 days without using that action.
  • "Last played" now stays relative instead of falling back to a calendar date: days up to 120 ("45 days ago"), months from 121 days ("4 months ago"), years past a year ("2 years ago"). Affects game details, the Home continue card, stats and performance screens.
  • Play buttons on the game details hero and the Home spotlight (Start Game / Resume and the "…" more-options pill) now get a Google-TV style focus ring on hover and controller focus: a white ring floating in a transparent gap around the button, continuously easing back and forth over one second between thick and fully opaque and thin and faded.
v1.1.2Aug 13, 2026

Changed

  • Controller-facing screens now share the same TV-sized dialog controls, menu states, card radius, status colors, empty/loading presentation, icon sizing and motion timing.

Fixed

  • Controller focus now stays inside open sidebars and dialogs, returns to its opener after closing, lands safely on non-destructive actions, and moves predictably onto newly loaded routes.
  • Game Details tab changes no longer leave the hidden Continue action focused, and the screenshot lightbox keeps backdrop saving on Y/Triangle without displaying a duplicate button.
  • The download queue now reports loading and recovery failures, confirms file deletion, preserves focus after mutations, and uses an explicit hold-to-reorder mode with preview, confirm and cancel behavior.
  • FPS overlay layout and appearance changes now apply to a running game's HUD immediately, without restarting warmUP or interrupting its frame-timing stream.
  • Change Game Screen now lands controller focus on the intended action in every wizard step, keeps Continue reachable after choosing a game display, and reveals the mouse pointer when the left stick takes over cursor control.
  • "Minimize to Windows" now minimizes the running game's real window together with warmUP, including games launched through child processes such as store launchers.
v1.1.1Aug 12, 2026

Added

  • Creating an account now confirms your email address: a six-digit code arrives by mail, and either typing it into warmUP or clicking the mail's confirmation link (which opens the app) finishes sign-up. Code and link are single-use and expire after 10 minutes. Existing accounts are unaffected.
  • While a game is running, a "Minimize to Windows" tile appears above the Continue card on Home — one press drops warmUP (and the game) to the Windows desktop while the game keeps running. When a download is also active, the slot rotates between the download progress and the minimize tile every few seconds.
  • Choosing a password — when creating an account, resetting it, or changing it in settings — now shows a live checklist and strength bar. A password needs at least 8 characters, an upper case letter, a lower case letter and a number; passwords that top every "most guessed" list are refused outright. Signing in is unaffected.

Fixed

  • Signing out now returns you to the sign-in screen instead of leaving the launcher usable without an account.

Changed

  • On the email confirmation screen after sign-up, pressing Esc now minimizes warmUP to the Windows desktop (e.g. to open your mail app) instead of discarding the confirmation dialog — the dialog is still there when you come back, and the mail's confirmation link brings warmUP back up by itself. Gamepad B still closes the dialog.
  • Search palette: larger group headings and a cleaner hint bar (up/down navigate arrows, PgUp/PgDn and shoulder-button page hints removed). The collapsed search pill's border is more subtle.
v1.1.0Aug 10, 2026

Added

  • Random game starter: a dice tile at the start of the library opens a fullscreen shuffle that picks one of your installed games, with play-or-reshuffle right from the result. It can be turned off from the tile itself or in Settings → Library & games.
  • A settings shortcut in the library toolbar jumps straight to the library settings.
v1.0.9Aug 9, 2026

Changed

  • "Play Now" on the home screen starts the game right away instead of opening the game's details page first. Ten seconds later the row quietly moves back to the Start tile behind the running game, so coming back from a session lands you on Start — unless you are already back in warmUP, then your own selection stays.
  • Sending warmUP to another display no longer changes which monitor Windows calls "Display 1", so your display arrangement and monitor numbering survive a jump. The primary is only handed over when the jump also disconnects the other displays, because Windows would otherwise reassign it on its own.

Fixed

  • Opening warmUP over a running game with the Guide button now really brings it to the front. Games that hold the Windows foreground (exclusive fullscreen, or anything running as administrator) used to keep it, leaving the launcher stacked behind the game.
  • While warmUP sits over a running game that kept the Windows foreground, the controller keeps driving the launcher — and the mouse pointer and clicks it produces no longer land in the game behind it.
  • Leaving a game no longer strands warmUP minimized in the taskbar when the handover had to minimize it to give the game the screen.
  • Updating warmUP no longer counts as accepting a Privacy Policy summary you never saw. The Windows installer recorded consent on every run — including unattended installs, which show no pages at all, and updates, where the installer shows the general legal notice rather than the dated summary of what actually changed. That recorded consent then suppressed the summary the app shows on the home screen. Consent is now only recorded for a fresh install where the license page really ran and was accepted; an update leaves your existing acceptance untouched, so if the Policy moved on since your version, the summary still reaches you in the app.
v1.0.8Aug 7, 2026

Added

  • The Continue card carries a "Rec.: Window mode" badge for Rocket League — on the Resume card before you launch it and while it runs — because that game glitches on its own in fullscreen. Hovering the badge with the mouse explains why it is not a warmUP problem.
  • warmUP keeps a sign-in log for your account: every sign-in records the time, the app version, your operating system and CPU architecture, and the pseudonymous installation ID your device already uses — no IP address, and nothing about your library or play time. It exists to secure your account, it is deleted after 24 months at the latest and immediately when you delete your account, and you can download the whole log through Settings → Privacy → Export my data.
  • Opening warmUP while signed in is recorded, along with roughly how long it stays open, so we can see how much the launcher is actually used and decide what to build next. Nothing about your library, your games or what you do inside the App is part of it, usage records are deleted after 14 months, and you can export or object to them at any time.

Changed

  • The Privacy Policy has been updated for the sign-in log and the usage records, and now opens with a dated summary of what changed. New installs get that summary in the installer, where the Policy is accepted anyway. Existing installations see it once on the home screen and can confirm it, or continue with optional diagnostics telemetry switched off.

Fixed

  • Launch handoff no longer stretches splash/bootstrap windows (Rocket League, Crimson Desert, Epic cold starts, etc.) into a broken top-left paint on a blank fullscreen surface. warmUP now recognises splash and loading windows by what they are instead of only by how big they are, waits for the real game window before forcing borderless fullscreen, and leaves a game that already fills the target display untouched.
v1.0.7Aug 5, 2026

Added

  • warmUP installs Epic, GOG and Amazon games into its own games folder on your main drive instead of asking where to put them every single time. Settings → Downloads shows the folder, lets you point it somewhere else, and can move the games you already installed to another drive.
  • Games warmUP installed can be uninstalled from warmUP: Maintenance → Uninstall game, on the card menu and on the game details page. Savegames are kept unless you tick the box — deleting them from the cloud as well is coming later.
  • Library covers show which store a game comes from, right-aligned next to genre and playtime.
  • A collection ends on an "Add game to collection" card, the same way All Games ends on "Add game".

Changed

  • Opening a game's details page shows its artwork right away instead of the grey placeholder. warmUP loads the big header images in the background after a store sync or after you add games, warms the artwork of the game you're pointing at, and blurs up from the cover while a picture it hasn't seen yet finishes loading.
  • The All Games / Installed Only switch in the "Add game to collection" dialog is as tall as the filter field beside it.
v1.0.6Aug 4, 2026

Added

  • Downloads and updates now show up where the game lives: the game details page swaps the install button for a live "Downloading…" pill with the percentage and a filling bar, and library covers get a matching progress strip along the bottom. The home download card is unchanged.

Changed

  • Game details hero tabs are now labeled Play, Trailer, and Details (was Play, Video, Media).
  • The arrow on the finished-download card above Continue now opens the downloads sidebar instead of jumping to the game, and pressing Y / Triangle while the card is focused opens it from the controller.

Fixed

  • Amazon downloads and updates now actually run to completion. warmUP no longer cuts the download off after 90 seconds and reports it as finished, shows real percentage and speed while it runs, surfaces the actual reason when Amazon refuses the download instead of silently claiming success, and updates games in the folder they are already installed in.
  • Epic games installed from inside warmUP now show up as installed. The download runs through Legendary, which keeps its own record of what it installed — warmUP only ever looked at the Epic launcher's manifests, so its own installs stayed invisible no matter how often the library was re-scanned.
  • A finished download no longer leaves the game offering "Hold to install". The store the game came from is re-scanned as soon as its download completes, so the game details page and the library switch over to the installed state on their own.
v1.0.5Aug 3, 2026

Fixed

  • Password reset opens as a proper modal above the setup screen instead of behind it, is sized for the couch like the rest of the TV dialogs, and points out that the code sometimes lands in spam.

Added

  • Backend can send transactional email through Zoho SMTP, sending from a verified alias. Groundwork for password reset; no user-facing change yet.
  • Backend endpoints for resetting a forgotten password with an emailed 6-digit code, and for changing the password while signed in. Not yet reachable from the app.
  • Desktop can talk to those endpoints. Still no screens; the flow is not reachable by users yet.
  • Forgot your password? You can now reset it from the sign-in screen with a 6-digit code sent to your email, without leaving warmUP.
  • Settings → Account & Subscriptions now opens on a new Account section showing your sign-in email, your active plans, and a link onwards to billing. You can change your password there, and sign out.

Changed

  • Account & Subscriptions is ordered so the account and what you pay for come before the services you connect to it.
v1.0.4Aug 3, 2026

Notes

  • Re-release of 1.0.3, which was withdrawn: its release build was configured with a backend host retired months earlier, so sign-in, account creation, AI taglines and game metadata all failed. Everything listed under 1.0.3 ships here.

Fixed

  • Sign-in, account creation, AI taglines and IGDB metadata failed in 1.0.3. The release build had the pre-launch backend URL baked in; local builds read the current one from apps/desktop/.env, and 1.0.3 was the first release actually built by CI, so the stale value had never been exercised.

Changed

  • The release workflow now refuses to build unless the configured backend answers /health, and refuses to publish unless the compiled binary really contains that URL.
  • Added a Secret audit workflow that reports on the release secrets without printing their values.
  • Dropped the unused Supabase variables from the release job.
  • App version bumped to 1.0.4.
v1.0.3Aug 2, 2026

Fixed

  • Installed builds looked for bundled resources beside the executable instead of in resources/, so the live game preview (GStreamer), the PresentMon performance overlay, the controller mapping DB, and the bundled legendary/gogdl/nile downloaders were all treated as missing. Resource lookup now goes through bundled_resources and checks both layouts.
  • The bundler flattens resources/gstreamer/**/* into a single directory, so the preview worker never found bin/gst-launch-1.0.exe and its plugin/scanner env pointed at directories that do not exist in an installed build. The runtime now detects the flat and the nested layout.
  • Steam sign-in no longer flashes a console window over the app.
  • Starting a Steam game no longer shows a console window or a spurious launch error.
  • Steam sign-in QR dialog opened behind the startup onboarding overlay, so "Connect Steam" appeared to do nothing during first-time setup (it worked in Settings).

Changed

  • App version bumped to 1.0.3.
v1.0.2Jul 31, 2026

Fixed

  • Ambient toast stack and icon layout (peek stack under the clock; icon stays beside text).
  • Wellbeing gamepad focus rings no longer clipped on edge cards (pages 3–4 and the shared page slider).
  • Epic Games Fortnite (and similar deep install trees) correctly detected as installed via manifest LaunchExecutable and a deeper folder probe.

Changed

  • Epic / GOG / Amazon in-app installs default to on, and remain toggleable in Settings.
  • App version bumped to 1.0.2.
v0.1.3Jul 30, 2026

Added

  • AI Fix: one complimentary AI-assisted fix for all players, unlimited with Plus (#938).

Changed

  • Releases are now built and signed in CI; the updater signing key was rotated. Installs older than this version must be updated manually once.

Fixed

  • Controller and window mode handoff between warmUP and games, including companion input ownership and controller recovery after a game exits.
  • Steam account linking and game metadata enrichment (#936, #935).
  • Library sync progress tracking (#935).
  • Local data management and settings UI polish (#932); app modal handling and onboarding flow (#928).
  • Companion mode synchronization after game launch (#923).
v1.0.0Jul 28, 2026

Added

  • Postgres deleted_user_tombstones table so late Stripe webhooks cannot resurrect purged accounts.
  • Postgres savegame_upload_grants table binding Nextcloud upload/download shares to the requesting user for quota enforcement and IDOR protection.
  • Tracked backend Postgres migration runner with duplicate and out-of-order migration checks.
  • Generated TypeScript bindings for the first Tauri subscription-command slice.
  • Bundled interface sound effects and server-synced profile badges.

Fixed

  • Rate-limit and bound public feedback/telemetry endpoints (#812).
  • Sign offline Plus grace grants with Ed25519 asymmetric keys instead of a shared secret (#808).
  • Stop Stripe webhooks from re-materializing users after GDPR purge (#810).
  • GDPR account export lists cloud savegames; account purge erases the Nextcloud savegame vault (#809).
  • Savegame cloud upload finalize verifies share ownership and reconciles quota against actual uploaded bytes (#811).
  • Keep chargeback-revoked subscriptions inactive and mask internal billing errors (#761, #762).
  • Preserve emulated-game install and scan-error state during boot repair (#763).
  • Unregister browser LB/RB tab switching when the browser overlay closes.
  • Enforce Plus entitlement at paid display mutation boundaries (#804).
  • Restore the desktop release test gate and add Rust library tests to release builds (#759).
  • Fail fast and alert when the account-deletion purge workflow is misconfigured (#757).

Known Issues

  • Companion prerelease update detection compares numeric version parts only; x.y.z-beta.N to x.y.z-beta.N+1 may not appear as an available update. Reinstall/repair still installs the latest installable companion asset.
v0.1.0Jun 13, 2026

Added

  • First stable release.
  • Auto-update routine: minisign-signed updates delivered via the warmup-releases mirror, with separate stable and beta channels (beta tracks the newest build via a rolling manifest).
  • One-command release tooling (bun run release) and a manual re-mirror recovery workflow.

Changed

  • Hardened the release pipeline: Windows-only build matrix, serialized releases, fail-fast when the releases-repo token is missing, and updater artifacts (latest.json + signatures) now generated.
v0.1.0-beta.1May 11, 2026

Added

  • Initial beta release.
  • IGDB API proxy with edge caching and normalized game profiles.
  • Tauri v2 desktop app with SDL3 gamepad support.
  • Grace token device attestation.
  • YouTube integration for discovery feed videos.

Changed

  • IGDB route: offload DB writes to background (setImmediate), eliminating 20+ sequential Supabase calls from the critical path.
  • OST data cached in-memory (5min TTL), removing Supabase round-trip on every games response.

Fixed

  • useHookAtTopLevel lint errors in for-you-interest-band.tsx — moved hooks before early return.
  • noAssignInExpressions lint error in continue-tagline-display.ts — rewrote while loop as for.
  • tauri.conf.json version field: corrected 0.1.0b to valid SemVer 0.1.0-beta.1.
v0.2.0-alpha.1Apr 19, 2026

Added

  • Initial public alpha release process baseline.
